Peer Review Policy
The Universal Journal of Humanities and Multi-Disciplinary Studies (UJHMDS) follows a rigorous and transparent double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, relevance, and academic integrity of all published manuscripts.
Initial Editorial Screening
All submitted manuscripts are first reviewed by the editorial team to determine:
- Alignment with the journal’s aims and scope
- Compliance with submission guidelines and formatting standards
- Adherence to ethical and plagiarism policies
- Overall academic relevance and contribution
Manuscripts that do not meet these preliminary criteria may be rejected at this stage without external review.
Double-Blind Review Process
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to two or more independent expert reviewers with relevant subject expertise.
Under the double-blind system:
- The identity of the authors is concealed from reviewers.
- The identity of the reviewers remains confidential to the authors.
This process ensures fairness, objectivity, and the prevention of bias.
Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:
- Originality and novelty of the research
- Theoretical and practical significance
- Methodological rigor and clarity
- Validity of analysis and interpretation
- Relevance to multidisciplinary scholarship
- Organization, structure, and academic presentation
- Ethical compliance
Editorial Decisions
Based on reviewer recommendations, the editorial decision may be:
- Accept
- Accept with Minor Revisions
- Major Revisions Required (Revise and Resubmit)
- Reject
Authors receiving revision requests must respond to reviewer comments systematically and submit revised manuscripts within the specified timeframe. Additional review rounds may be conducted if necessary.
The Editor-in-Chief holds the final authority regarding acceptance or rejection of manuscripts. Decisions are made strictly on academic merit, without discrimination based on gender, nationality, institutional affiliation, race, or political beliefs.
Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers are expected to:
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Provide constructive, objective, and timely feedback
- Disclose any potential conflicts of interest
- Refrain from using unpublished material for personal advantage
Any breach of ethical standards may result in removal from the reviewer panel.
Transparency and Integrity
UJHMDS is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and excellence in scholarly publishing. The peer review process is conducted in accordance with recognized international publishing ethics and best practices.
