Abstract

User research is increasingly important to realizing strategic business objectives of aligning product and service development with customer needs and preferences. This paper will attempt to search for ways in which user research could help in developing data-driven decision-making, increasing user satisfaction, and creating a competitive advantage. Detailed in this paper are methodologies, specific examples, and supporting evidence that address best practices for, and limitations on, using user research in different organizational contexts. The findings emphasize the need for embedding user insights into business strategies to enable sustained growth.
